Born in post-apartheid South Africa, raised in Italy, Lauren graduated from UCLA’s production graduate program. Before she left school she had joined the DGA, after directing Second Unit on Plush, a Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, Twilight) feature. She followed this up with producing and directing City Bus starring Ahna O’Reilly (The Help) that won best director and best narrative short at the 2017 IFS Festival and the Los Angeles International Underground Film Festival. Don’t Come Back from the Moon (with Jeff Wahlberg, Rashida Jones, James Franco), a feature Lauren went on to produce, won the Jury Award at the 2017 LA Film Festival. Her latest short, Shoot For The Moon, about a little girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut, will premiere at TIFF Kids 2018, while her first-person POV short The New Kid won silver at the California state ADDYs. She's currently in prep on a series called Risk of Fire destined for the bite size format of Blackpills.
